Patliputra or the modern Patna as we know is situated on the banks of sacred river Ganga and is the capital to Bihar State and as per the records the origin came about 600 BC. Golghar, the behive shaped grainery was built to store grains during the famines and one can have the beautiful view of the city and the river Ganga by standing on the top of it Planetarium the largest in Asia has many visitors to see various films on astronomy. Various exhibitions on astronomy are also conducted here.

State secretariat building also known as martyrs house was made in the memory of the seven School and College kids who were in 1942 during Quit India Movement.
